PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Roman public transport is called Metrebus, because it is made up of the metro, urban trains and buses.

Types of ticket:
BIT: a single use ticket that is valid for 75 minutes and costs: euro 1.00.
BIG: a day ticlket that costs euro 4.00.
CIS: a weekly pass that costs euro 16.00
BTI: a 3-day tourist pass that costs euro 11.00

Tickets can be bought at:

* News Agents Bars
* Machines at end of line bus stops
* Atac sales points at principle metro stations:
Anagnina, Lepanto, Flaminio, Eur Fermi, Ponte Mammolo and Valle Aurelia
* Railway stations and airports

Tickets should be stamped as soon as you board a bus or tram or at metro station turnstiles.

BUSES - ROUTE TYPES
In addition to the traditional urban buses identified by the letter U on a blue background, Rome has the folìowing route types:

Express Routes (linee express)
identified by a green letter X, which cover long distances, connecting distant urban areas.They stop at only principle locations, where it is possible to change onto a train or metro route.

Summer Routes (linee estate) identified by a Bordeaux letter E, which cover short distances with higher frequency.

Electric Routes (linee elettriche)
which are to be found above all in the centre and connect many of the citys theatres.

Night Routes (linee notturne)
identified by the letter N, which run between midnight and 5:30 a.m. Night bus stops are indicated by the easiìy distinguishable silhouette of an owl.

METRO

A Line stops:
Battistini (end of line), Cornelia, Baldo degli Ubaldi, Valle Aurelia, Cipro/Musei Vaticani, Ottaviano S.Pietro, Lepanto, Flaminio/Piazza del Popolo, Spagna, Barberini/Fontana di Trevi, Repubblica/Teatro dellOpera, Termini, Vittorio Emanuele, Manzoni, S. Giovanni, Re di Roma, Ponte Lungo, Furio Camillo, Colli Albani/Parco dellAppia Antica, Arco di Travertino, Porta Furba/Quadraro, Numidio Quadrato, Lucio Sestio, Giulio Agricola, Subaugusta, Cinecittà, Anagnina (end of line).

B Line stops:
Laurentina (end of line), Eur Fermi, Eur Palasport, Eur Magliana, Marconi, Basilica di S. Paolo, Garbatella, Piramide, Circo Massimo, Colosseo, Cavour, Termini, Castro Pretorio, Policlinico, Bologna, Tiburtina, Quintiliani, Monti Tiburtini, Pietralata, S.M.Soccorso, Ponte Mammolo, Rebibbia (end of line).

GOING TO AND FROM THE AIRPORTS

Fiumicino
* From Termini Train Station: A train every 30 minutes from 5:52 a.m. to 10.52 p.m.The journey takes about 30 minutes.
Tickets cost euro 9.50.
From Tiburtina-Tuscolana, Ostiense or Trastevere Train Stations:A train every 15 minutes from 5:06 a.m. at Tiburtina (+ 5 minutes forTusculana, + 10 minutes for Ostiense and
+ 15 minutes forTrastevere) to 10.36 p.m.at Tiburtina.The journey fromTiburtina takes about 40 minutes,Tickets cost euro 5.00.

Ciampino
Metro A until the end of the line Anagnina, then the Cotral bus (the blue ones) to the airport.They leave every 30 minutes and run from 6:10 a.m, to 11:00 p.m.
From Termini train station there is a train to Ciampino town every 15 minutes, after which take the Cotral bus to the airport.

Dell'Urbe Tourist Airport
From Tiburtina train station take the urban train for Monterotondo-Mentana, get off at Salaria Urbe.
